Key Persons

We have a very well established Key Person system at our nursery. Each child is allocated a Key Person who will be reponsible for all his or her physical and educational needs. Your child's Key Person will be your first point of contact at the nursery and will guide you, if needed, through the challenges of weaning, toileting and reduction of naps as time goes forward.  You can telephone your child's Key Person at any point during the nursery day to discuss specific issues, ask questions or if reassurance is needed on any point. Your Key person will run their own Parents' Evenings in respect of their key children and has a "Key Person Buddy" to take over when they are on holiday or absent from nursery for any other reason.

Staff : Child Ratio

This is 1:3 for all  our children, whatever their age and developmental stage,  ensuring each child's emotional, educational and physical needs are met. Our children are confident, chatty and eager to learn.

Staff Recruitment, Qualifications and Training

Practitioners are recruited who demonstate in interview a clear love of children, common sense, intelligence, the ability to show initiative and to work within a strong and mutually supportive team.

Qualifications and ongoing education are highly valued in this nursery; and all staff are encouraged and enabled to achieve the highest level of training of which they are capable.

Our trainees who are recompensed well, commensurate with their ability and potential. Management roles are regularly awarded to staff members who have trained and qualified with us.

Babysitting

Most of our staff are available for babysitting, please ask them and note:

1.This will be an arrangement outside nursery hours between you and that staff member, and as such cannot be covered by nursery policies, procedures or insurance.

2.That said, staff will however still be expected to maintain confidentiality in respect of your family, and will maintain professional standards.

3. Staff have limited access to their phones during the nursery day, so during the hours that your child(ren) are here, please continue contact their Key Person(s) in the usual manner by the nursery landline or email.
